New background music debuts throughout Disney Springs The transition from Downtown Disney to Disney Springs moved a step closer this past weekend as new background music debuted throughout the property. Say goodbye to 'Funky Town' and 'High School Musical,' and say hello to electronic instrumental music on the West Side and The Landing, and some new arrangements of instrumental electronic Disney-inspired tunes in the Marketplace. Along with the all new background music, the new system will eventually play different tracks dependent on time of day, not just the specific location with Disney Springs. Some of the tracks we heard on the West Side and The Landing were: 'Bossapolari' by Planet Lounge 'Mysterious Muses' by Baby Mammoth 'Lost Vagueness' by Thunderbolt 'Rosetta Drive' by The Kaminsky Experience 'Summer Song' by The Kaminsky Experience 'Das Gezabel' by Paul Kalkbrenner New interpretations of 'A Whole New World' and 'Winnie the Pooh' are some of the tracks playing in the Marketplace.

Spent two long hours yesterday recording the new Marketplace BGM. While the other areas of DTD/Disney Springs are playing a selection of fairly typical mall needledrop music, the Marketplace has a totally original loop of Disney songs arranged in a jazz-techno-fusion style. It got to be one of the longest original BGM loops Disney has ever produced. The loop runs 1:44:00.8. There are crossfades or overlaps between tracks, and the loop doesn't contain a single silent gap longer than a fraction of a second. I'm genuinely not sure where the start point is- so good job, I guess.

You're not following anyone yet! My Beatport lets you follow your favorite DJs and labels so you can find out when they release new tracks. So go follow someone! Here Today Gone Tomorrow (Deluxe Version). It's probably little surprise that Fritz Kalkbrenner's debut album feels like a refracted '70s release for 2010: think of double albums like Songs in the Key of Life (or even ' Live at Carnegie Hall, given his warm, full-bodied voice) and you'll get a sense of his partial inspiration. Stream Fritz Kalkbrenner / Here Today Gone Tomorrow, a playlist by Suol from desktop or your mobile device.

Some of the arrangements are pretty out there and the melody sometimes isn't apparent until a minute or so into the tracks. There are two tracks who's melodies I have yet to identify:.A Whole New World. You Can Fly!.Almost There.True Love's Kiss.Be Our Guest.???????.Hakuna Matata. For The First Time in Forever / Let It Go Medley. If I Didn't Have You (Monsters Inc. Theme).I See The Light.Ev'rybody Wants To Be A Cat.???????.Reflection.Can You Feel the Love Tonight. The Incredibles Theme.Colors of the Wind.Go The Distance.Friend Like Me.When Will My Life Begin?.I Wanna Be Like You.You've Got A Friend In Me.When Can I See You Again?.Part Of Your World.Winnie the Pooh. Disney Springs Area Music (observed August 2017) This is a partial list. Appears to be some repeats.

DJ LICIOUS Belgium-based but beaming the love of house all over the world with a blend of funky rhythms, groovy sax and smooth vocals: Dj Licious knows good vibes come from nothing but house music. After founding the celebrated clubbing concept SHOMI in Antwerp, his deejay career directed him to the Belgian “Defected in the House” parties, proudly pushing house music on a national level. By mixing fresh tunes in his own radio show on Radio FG, spinning his favorite tracks at clubs and festivals worldwide (Tomorrowland, Privilege Ibiza, Laundry Day, Summerfestival, Versuz, La Rocca, WMC Miami, Pacha World Tour, and many more), Dj Licious does what he loves most: let the music do the talking. Producing his own tracks was only a natural step in spreading quality house vibes all around the world. His work has been played and approved around the world. Now he is signed to Funkerman’s label “Can You Feel It?” where it’s all about getting that funk and soul back where they belong: into the heart of house music. House is where the heart is.

Home is where the house is. ARMAND VAN HELDEN As one in the steady progression of top in-house producers for Strictly Rhythm during the early ’90s, Van Helden joined such names as Todd Terry, Erick Morillo, Roger Sanchez, Masters at Work and George Morel to record scores of club hits. By the late ’90s, a clutch of crucial remixes and several albums made Van Helden’s name as one of the most popular producers around.

Until he began branching out in 1996 with a barrage of album productions and remix classics (several of which were heard by more people than the originals), Armand Van Helden was one of the best-kept secrets in house music, recording for such labels as Strictly Rhythm, Henry St., Logic and ZYX. Afterwards, he became one of the top names in dance music altogether. As one in the steady progression of top in-house producers for Strictly Rhythm during the early ’90s, Van Helden joined such names as Todd Terry, Erick Morillo, Roger Sanchez, Masters at Work and George Morel to record scores of club hits.

By the late ’90s, a clutch of crucial remixes and several albums made Van Helden’s name as one of the most popular producers around. Van Helden spent time in Holland, Turkey and Italy while growing up the son of an Air Force man, and listened to music from an early age.

He bought a drum machine at the age of 13 and began DJing two years later, mostly hip-hop and freestyle. Based in Boston while attending college, Van Helden proceeded to moonlight as a DJ; though he settled into a legal-review job after graduation, he quit his job in 1991 to begin working on production for the remix service X-Mix Productions (founded by his future manager, Neil Pettricone). Van Helden also owned a residency at Boston’s Loft, and soon made it into one of the most popular nightclubs in the city. After playing one of his production demos for the dance A&R guru Gladys Pizarro in 1992, Van Helden released his proper debut single, Deep Creed’s “Stay on My Mind,” for Nervous Records.

Later that year, Van Helden released “Move It to the Left” by Sultans of Swing, his first single for the premiere American dance label Strictly Rhythm. Though a moderate club hit, the single was eclipsed by another Strictly Rhythm offering, 1994’s “Witch Doktor.” It became a dancefloor hit around the world and introduced him to a larger club audience. Although he had remixed Deee-Lite, Jimmy Somerville, New Order, Deep Forest and Faithless, a reworked version of Tori Amos’ “Professional Widow” hit the clubs with the same impact as his “Witchdoktor” single.

During 1996-97, Van Helden became the name for forward-thinking pop artists to recruit for remixing duty from the Rolling Stones, Janet Jackson and Puff Daddy to Sneaker Pimps, C.J. Bolland and Daft Punk. His own-name singles productions continued unabated, with hits like “Cha Cha” and “The Funk Phenomena,” plus the release of his first album, Old School Junkies. Following a 1997 Greatest Hits retrospective, Van Helden returned to his old-school rap roots with the party breakbeat album, SampleslayerEnter the Meatmarket.

The 2 Future 4 U EP followed in 1998, and in mid-2000 Van Helden returned with Killing Puritans. ART DEPARTMENT Art Department is the brainchild of Canadian techno/house Legend Kenny Glasgow and Canada’s fastest rising star and No.19 label owner – Jonny White.

As individuals both Kenny and Jonny have released countless critically acclaimed records and are regarded internationally as two of the most forward thinking, revolutionary underground producers out of North America. Kenny’s credentials date back to the late 80’s and include productions on Narcotic, Jinxx, his own Method 11/11 label and Turbo. Whilst White’s revered No.19 Music label along side a blindingly fast – growing discography have seen him rapidly rise to the forefront of the international scene. The pair, despite being close friends and stalwarts in the Toronto electronic music scene for years, had not joined forces in the studio until only as recently as 2009, when Damian Lazarus called on them to remix Riz MC for his prestigious Crosstown Rebels Label.

The result was an entirely new sound that drew cues from the best of both artists. It was a futuristic and raw, synth-driven, underground masterpiece, the start of a new idea and the birth of Art Department Before long the two were working full time in the studio to expand upon what they had created but now with a new focus the concept for Art Department was to create a live dj/vocal performance based on the new sound they were beginning to produce and would feature Kenny Glasgow’s unique and sublime vocals that had been heard only 10+ years earlier on records like “Pressing On”. It wasn’t long before Damian heard what the pair had been working on and immediately offered them a deal with Crosstown Rebels that would include several singles, remixes and a full length album due out at the beginning of 2011. The momentum continued and Art Department performed their first ever live show at the Crosstown Rebels Get Lost event at the 2010 WMC in front of a jam packed room, along side an A list cast of 17 artists from the label. DJ’s, promoters and party animals regarded the performance as one of the most ground-breaking & important shows at this years WMCSimple label boss – Will Saul was quoted saying “the live show was the best thing we’ve heard since we heard Mathew Johnson for the first time”. The follow up performance came the very next night at Jamie Jones & Lee Foss’ Hot Natured party where Art Department treated the enthusiastic crowd to a mind-bending dj set and secured their spot as residents for the much lauded Hot Natured brand.

With massive support from the rebel crew along with an exciting release schedule including collaborations with Seth Troxler, Jamie Jones and Soul Clap there is no doubt that this will be yet another inspired chapter in the story of these Canadian talents. The true resident of sound for the real Ibiza. AXWELL The global Dance icon and five-time Grammy nominated Axwell has had little time to rest upon his laurels over the past decade. In a career that has taken him from the Swedish underground to Madison Square Gardens and the UK charts alike, his Midas like touch has seen Axel Hedfors rise as an idol of modern house music. His national identity has been a heavy hallmark in terms of his global success.

Alongside long serving peers and childhood friends Steve Angello and Sebastian Ingrosso, Swedish House Mafia has stamped out the animosity once associated with popular Dance music, setting a new precedent with such chart-topping endeavors as ‘Save the World’ and ‘Don’t You Worry Child’ and momentous live landmarks at Madison Square Garden, Milton Keynes Bowl and Main stage Ultra, Miami. Their legendary farewell tour ‘One Last Tour’ racked up a landmark run of 53 shows across 36 cities for the enigmatic trio. Ax has had a busy summer touring Europe’s most vibrant festival, Summerburst, Tomorrowlands, and Nova era to name a few. The end of August saw Axwell headlining his biggest ever solo show for Where’s the Party?, a 10,0000 capacity venue in his home town of Stockholm. Ibiza 2013 saw Axwell move into a new era, bringing a new concept and brand to the white Isle, ‘Departures’. Along with fellow Swede and band member Sebastian Ingrosso, Departures set off a weekly party at the Ushuaia Hotel.

Boasting sold out shows and an array of hot line ups it has been the success story of the season. Departures is not just a party, but, to quote “People tied together by love, by freedom, by adventure, by happiness, by the beat of the drum, where the native tongue is the body language of dancing together.

“The future of the brand looks bright; it encompasses not only Axwell’s talent and passion for his music but his beliefs and love for his fans. With countless IDs dating back to 2007 Axwell has little intention of resting on those iconic laurels just yet. Driven by the belief that every release should matter, his Axtone Records imprint continues to lead with quality and consistency, balancing his own musical tastes alongside some of the freshest talents on offer. Ax already has many landmark hits under his belt, ‘Feel The Vibe, ‘Wonderful World’ and the accidental crossover anthem ‘I Found U’ were all track synonymous of his earlier years.

This year has seen a flurry of new music with collaborations with Sick Individuals on ‘I Am’ that is set to be huge, ‘Tokyo By Night’ with Hook N Sling and a remix with NOID on Mutiny’s ‘Feel the Pressure’. Now is the time he can once again concentrate on his solo career, for Axwell these songs are all crafted with love from the heart. Having spun eclectic sets across 67 countries at some 480 shows over the past 5 years, it is fair to say that Ax has a solid vision for the road ahead. As a proud member of the thriving global dance culture and a man who has taken the long way round to fulfil his wildest dreams, the labour of love has seldom sounded as sweet as that of Axwell. As members of the notorious Kompakt and Get Physical families along with a slew of other labels, Anstascia and Vivie-Ann have carved out a niche thanks to their dark, sensual club music, sultry DJ sets and outrageous, fun-loving attitude. In the beginning there was no plan, just a chance meeting at WMC in 2007 which resulted in a cosmic bond between two house music loving visionaries and the conception of one of Montreal’s midweek mangles at Cherry nightclub. Their work as promoters and DJs at the party, which was called ‘BLOND:ISH’, started a natural chain of events and it was only a matter of time before they decided it was time to transmit the hedonistic spirit of their debauched soiree to the rest of planet Earth.

In 2010 they packed up and shipped out of Canada to soak up all the energy and inspiration London had to offer. The influential city provided the perfect location for their musical endeavours. Stardust manifested itself in several key moments of pure magic over the following years; from an old friend connecting them to the Kompakt family and their first release with the seminal label, to M.A.N.D.Y’s Philipp opening a spine-tingling set in the wonder of the Mexican jungle with ‘In My Head’ and welcoming them into the Get Physical crew. A slew of original productions and gigs all over the world helped to reinforce their undying love for music and demonstrated that, where words fail, BLOND:ISH’s music speaks. One of their ultimate experiences taking place at Burning Man where for the last 4 years, they could truly embrace their hippie spirit and share their ideologies with like minded people.

Remixes for several high-profile artists showcased their ability to put a sly electronic BLOND:ISH spin on a myriad of styles. Electronic music legends Depeche Mode among the many recipients of their unique talents. BLOND:ISH are now poised to embark on the next step of their mission.

Taking field recordings on every trip they make, and finding inspiration during a month of downtime in Mexico, the duo have their sights set firmly on keeping that magical energy flowing, sending positive vibrations deep into the outer regions of the universe. BRAIN TAPPERT Brian is one half of the world-renowned remix team “Jazz-N-Groove Productions” and co-owner of the critically acclaimed record label Soulfuric Recordings. He also records under the monikers of “Urban Blues Project”, and “Cleptomaniacs”, as well as remixing for everyone from Loleatta Holloway to Arnold Jarvis to Sounds of Blackness. Originally from NJ, Brian started Djing back in 1984, finding his love for soulful sounds through Tony Humphries radio show on 98.7 Kiss FM.

As the late 80’s exploded with the fresh new sounds of House Music, his passion grew to an obsession and he’s never looked back. Making his way into production gradually in the early 90’s, Brian fused his DJ experiences with his love for soulfully crafted songs and melody with the result being Jazz-N-Groove Productions. With a consistent output of quality tracks, Jazz-N-Groove quickly established itself with cuts like Northbound “Better Way”, Mone “We Can Make it”, and Native Rhythm “Ya Hey” on pioneering labels such as Suburban, Bassline, Strictly Rhythm, and AM: PM. As a producer, Brian’s collaborations with partner Marc Pomeroy under the “Urban Blues Project” moniker have become some of the most celebrated soulful house classics known to man with records like Michael Procter’s “Deliver Me”, Donna Allen “He is the Joy” and most recently “We are One” featuring Bobby Pruitt being prime examples.

Also an accomplished engineer and programmer, Brian’s studio talents are highlighted by meticulous attention to detail and arrangement. Walking the fine line of commercial accessibility and credibility, his productions shine with powerful yet soulful styling. In 1998 the “Cleptomaniacs” were born.

What began as a simple collaboration with long time friend John “Julius” Knight, quickly evolved into something much more.with now classic tracks such as “Numero Uno”, “Let’s Get Down”, “All I Do” and “Give it Up”, The Cleptomaniacs have produced and remixed many dance floor favorites. Their trend setting ability to rework a classic into a modern day floor filler is second to none. Nowadays, Brian and John involve Marc on many of their productions and mixes. You can catch Brian Djing in some of the worlds most exclusive venues with regular guest appearances at clubs such as Ministry of Sound – London, Pacha – Ibiza, D-Club – Switzerland, Bed – Sheffield, Mach 1 – Germany and many more. Fusing the old with the new, Brian’s strength lies in his programming ability, proving time and time again there’s more to Djing than mixing records.

Over the years, Brian has developed from a local club jock to a World Class master of the art of working a crowd. His performance behind the wheels of steel has to be experienced in the club to get a true sense of the magic that is delivered. Brian’s other skills are no less impressive in the studio. Whether he is masterfully and methodically creating drum programs, arranging, producing or remixing, he is the living definition of the word perfectionist. CATZ & DOGZ If you don’t know them by now, their full Polish names are Grzegorz and Wojciech but you can call them Greg and Voitek.

As DJs you are likely to find them playing disco/deephouse at the small parties they organize frequently in Berlin and Szczecin as well as tech-house and techno at festivals and big clubs all over the world. Their real names may be Grzegorz and Wojciech, but there have been plenty of others along the way: early DJ sets as Deeop and Ketiov, champions of the underground as 3 Channels, or simply ‘Greg and Voitek’ to nearest and dearest. No doubt, you’ll know them best as CATZ ‘N DOGZ.

The last few years have seen the duo’s refreshing take on dance floor music propel them into the limelight and seen them feature in Resident Advisor’s hallowed Top 100 DJ Poll. The truth is clear: Catz ‘n Dogz are well ‘n truly at the top of their game. It all began in 2003, when best friends Greg and Voitek hosted their first club night as 3 Channels in their hometown Szczecin, Poland. From here they developed and grew organically, amassing a loyal legion of fans. They broadened their creative pursuits further with music production being their next natural outlet. Their techno-centric tracks swiftly caught the attention and featured on the rosters of some of the most respected underground dance labels in the world: Trapez, Crosstown Rebels, Pokerflat as well as the boys’ own budding imprint Channels Rec.

It wasn’t long before Claude VonStroke heard 3 Channels’ red-hot club records and snapped the boys up for his dirtybird imprint where there they remixed Claude’s infamous anthem “Who’s Afraid Of Detroit?” for a highly limited (and highly sought-after) one sided vinyl release, followed by an original ep and dancefloor-destroyer Chicken Affair. By 2008, they had completely evolved, reemerging with a looser, freewheeling house sound, a hybrid masterpiece of a debut album, Stars of Zoo, and a new name: Catz ‘n Dogz. The pair successfully integrated deep house signatures without losing sight of their techno roots, whilst exploring lush, organic soundscapes.

To a rapturous response they unveiled a follow up album, Escape from Zoo, that intertwined vines of street bass, disco, R&B, deep house, hip-hop and collaborations with heavy hitters dOP, Claude VonStroke and Jazzanova’s Paul Randolph. This launched them headlong into a heavy period of touring, live shows and festivals around the globe. The natural progression was to launch a new label. Pets Recordings kicked off the Petcast podcast series and took their label showcases on the road. Their A&R home runs, debuting Eats Everything’s smash “Entrance Song” and more recently, Rachel Row’s “Follow The Step” (KiNK and Justin Martin remixes) firmly puts Pets Recordings on the map. Ten years on, the boys now hold residencies at Watergate Club, Berlin, dirtybird at Sankeys, Ibiza as well as hosting multiple Pets Recordings showcases across Poland and at Watergate. It goes without saying the guys are building an ever-growing portfolio of live music achievements as they continue to throw their “Pets Parties” all over the world, formerly showcasing the label’s talent in Berlin, Ibiza, Paris, Munich and London as well as at the Winter Music Conference, SONAR and BPM Festival.

2012 saw Catz ‘n Dogz mix the legendary ‘Body Language’ compilation series, release ‘They Frontin’ featuring Monty Luke EP, which was nominated as WMC’s best deep house track of 2012 and release a second instalment of their Pets Recordings compilation ‘Friends Will Carry You Home Too’. They even managed to squeeze in a debut ‘Essential Mix’ for BBC Radio 1.

Last year brought us a collaboration release with KiNK on the ‘Love EP’ for dirtybird, as well as the free release of the ‘Untitled’ album under their Different Marks alias. This collaborative project with Martin Dawson was released earlier this year in memory of the UK producer and features artists such as Paul Randolph, Ben Westbeech, Cari Golden & James Yuill. The duo joined forces with Eats Everything as ‘Catz Eats Dogz’ on an ongoing series of releases and their refreshing of Thomas Schumacher’s ‘Hush’ instantly established itself as one of the biggest club hits of 2013. Pets Recordings delivered more hits, including a wonderful second single from Rachel Row, ‘L Square’, and a label debut from Pete Tong.

The label also spawned a new vinyl only sister imprint STEP. 2014 is already proving to be the busiest year to date for Catz ‘n Dogz. Having kicked things off with their Pets party at BPM in January their label events program has continued at full pace. Their Watergate residency gathers strength, their Sonar event is on the horizon and July will also see the first ever WOODED event to be hosted in Wroclaw, Poland. A packed summer season awaits the duo. One thats sees them play the finest of Ibiza’s parties and many of the key festivals around the world. The compiling and release of Friends Will Carry Home III has kept Catz ‘n Dogz busy on the label front, and they have also been locked in the studio working on their very own new artist album, set for release in early 2015.

Exciting times. So, whether you’re charmed by their bass-heavy, colourful, groove-laden DJ sets, drawn in by their arresting live show, weaving your way through their illustrious output as producers, or delving into the magical tunes curated from their close network of friends, Grzegorz and Wojciech (or Greg ‘n Voitek) are simply two of the hottest house Catz (‘n Dogz) around.

Underpinned by top-class studio knowhow, his crisp, forward thinking records are a joy to drop in front of even the biggest crowds. From chart topping remixes like ‘Very Wrong’ and ‘Smile for Me’, to recent high-profile re-workings for the likes of Ellen Allien and Kiki, Chaim has also confirmed his name as a remixer to watch out for Now with more exciting releases planned – like the blossoming, other-worldly trip of his ‘Thrill You’ EP, or the 8 remixes in collab with Guy Gerber, to be released on P.Diddy’s forthcoming album, Chaim is on an unstoppable mission. Heavy DJ touring over the last two years has seen the enigmatic Israeli grace the DJ booths of Fabric & Panorama Bar to name but a few, and his work with the BPitch crew has highlighted him as an exciting figure amongst the current electronic scene. CLAUDE VON STROKE Raised in Detroit and based in San Francisco, Barclay Crenshaw created the quirky alias “Claude VonStroke” in 2005 and went on to become one of the most well respected label owners and DJs in dance music. His first release, ‘Deep Throat’ was a hit putting his imprint on the decks of DJs around the globe.

A manifesto of sorts, it was the rare dance floor bomb that sounded as much fun to make as it was to dance to. But the real breakthrough came with double-header ‘The Whistler/Who’s Afraid of Detroit?’ The 12″ cemented Claude’s reputation as a producer to be reckoned with, crossing borders, genres and musical ears. The Whistler was embraced by the bass crowd, and at the same time sitting just as easily on the more 4/4 floors.

Similarly, Who’s Afraid of Detroit? (a social comment about the unfounded fears of suburbanites visiting downtown Detroit) is now known as one of the classic dance tracks of the decade. In 2009, he recorded a mix for Fabric’s venerated compilation series and released second album “Bird Brain”, which encompassed many diverse aspects of dance music and beyond. It included a collaboration with the legendary P-Funk bassist Bootsy Collins as well as two tracks that went to number #1 & #2 on Beatport respectively. His label, dirtybird, continues to surprise and innovate in the underground dance scene. The label features an enigmatic combination of house, funk, dirty-bass and electronica.

Since the creation of dirtybird, Claude has continued to be the dedicated A&R man, signing over 100 EPs and demonstrating his incredible ear for what works on the dance-floor. Staying true to Crenshaw’s detroit heritage, dirtybird donates 10% of its profits to a children’s music school in Detroit. A lot of the success of dirtybird and VonStroke can be attributed to a good attitude. Claude VonStroke does not scowl and look mean while he DJs.

Tomorrow

He does not pretend to know everything and he truly loves his fans. He is grateful to be doing music for a living and he knows that the reason people go to parties is to shake their ass and have fun. In this day and age of music cross-pollination, Claude VonStroke sits at the forefront of all that is good, proper and most importantly fun. He’s just as at home remixing Kenny Larkin or Infinity Ink as he is dropping multiple #1 Beatport hits. DJ wise, his relentless touring of every major city, festival and basement after-party around the world has only enriched this unique perspective on music. This September, a much anticipated third artist album will come from the dirtybird chief – this time perhap a slightly more moody effort but overall still just as exciting and innovative as previous works.

“Urban Animal” mirrors the way VonStroke Djs – a wide range of house music with sprinkles of drum n bass, funk and soul. The album will be followed up by a massive world tour this fall starting in North America and travelling to Australia and Europe over the winter months.
