The Breeders Standard Pedigree Program Software
Breeders Assistant for Dogs 5.11 is available as a free download on our software library. The common filename for the program's installer is Ba-Dog.exe. The most popular versions among the program users are 4.6 and 2.0. The Breeder's Standard.NET solves these problems for you, elegantly and inexpensively. TBS.NET is a completely new program from the ground up. It has to be because it is unlike any other breeder's program or pedigree software ever made.
I purchased CompuPed Millennium Pro some years ago which is now owned by PedFast which also developed Breeders Standard. CompuPed was at one time the standard for genetic databases. The original was an old DOS program developed by a man in Colorado. When he died the program was sold by his family and ended up in the hands of PedFast.
They promised to bring the program up to windows standards in Millennium. Well more than a year after their promised release date they finally released it. The program was very unstable on any version of windows I ever tried it on. After spending a lot of time entering data only to then lose it, and trying to get it to work, I finally trashed it. This was after trying over and over to get support help from PedFast, who is totally worthless in the customer service department.
Sounds like Jay has had some similar problems with Breeders Standard. I wouldn't do business with PedFast on any product! Master Poster Posts: 438 Joined: Sat Jun 23, 2007 7:26 am Location: UT. Yes, I have had my problems with Breeders Standard/ PedFast. I'm not impressed with the 2010 software. It won't accept my password.
But, I have 11 years in this program so I don't think I am going to throw it away. Few months back I got a new computer with the windows 7 upgrade; it was easier to download it from the web page then it was trying to load it from the cd. I loaded up the backup and everything has been okay since then.
I can understand why you guys are fustrated though. If any of my GWP friends out there need a pedigree or would like to know what is behind your dog; I would be happy to help you out. Or if you are getting a puppy and its in my data base I can let you know who you have in your pups pedigree. Its fun for me!
